Position Overview
We're seeking a clinical advisor with primary care and/or women's health expertise to validate our clinical workflows, behavioral health screening protocols, and clinician user experience. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician, advanced practice clinician, or clinical professional to shape next-generation maternal mental and behavioral health technology while maintaining their primary clinical practice.
The ideal candidate understands OB/GYN or family medicine scope of practice and workflows. Live experience with perinatal mental and behavioral health screening, and can assess how our platform integrates into real-world clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Validation (Priority Areas)
- Review and validate screening tool/scale implementations (EPDS, PHQ-9, GAD-7) for clinical accuracy
- Assess clinician workflows for OB/GYN and primary care user experience and practical usability
- Evaluate crisis protocols and scope of practice boundaries for patient data collection
- Provide feedback on clinical decision points, documentation patterns, and medico-legal considerations
- Review risk assessment triggers and referral pathways from frontline clinician perspective
Engagement Structure
- 1-2 validation sessions over 6-8 weeks focused on highest priority features
- Async product review (~0.5-2 hours) + live feedback meeting (1-1.5 hours) + brief written summary (500-800 min)
- Structured validation checklist for efficiency
- Participation in focused discussions with founders and technical team
- Long-term fractional advisory role and special projects strongly preferred for the right candidate
- Potential for long-term fractional advisory or executive role to be defined after initial project
Ideal Candidate Background
Clinical Experience (one or more)
- OB/GYN or Family Medicine physician (MD/DO)
- Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife
- Primary Care physician with perinatal mental and behavioral health experience
- Clinical background with clinical informatics, product management, or health tech experience
Valued Expertise
- Experience with perinatal mental and behavioral health screening in clinical practice
- Understanding of remote monitoring guidelines and billing requirements
- Clinical informatics background (implementation of clinical decision support systems, EHR workflows)
- Product management experience in healthcare technology
- Cultural competency in mental health, particularly with diverse, rural, or Spanish-speaking populations
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare systems, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
- Expert understanding of scope of practice distinctions between clinician types

- Clear communication of complex clinical concepts to non-clinical audiences

- Proficient with AI and digital documentation tools, applying them ethically to enhance work quality
- Experience creating standardized clinical documentation for technology, product, and business stakeholders
Qualifications
- Active clinical practice or recent clinical experience (within last 3 years)
- Licensed healthcare clinician (MD, DO, NP, CNM) or clinical background with informatics/product management experience
- Experience with maternal/women's health and mental and behavioral health screening protocols
- Understanding of primary care or OB/GYN practice operations
- Familiarity with HIPAA, scope of practice regulations, and clinical documentation requirements
- Experience in early-stage digital health companies or familiarity with product design and development processes
- Fluency with virtual collaboration tools and modern digital workflows (Zoom, Google Workspace, LLMs, agentic AI)
Time Commitment
- Total: 6-10 hours over 6-8 weeks
- 1-2 focused validation sessions on highest priority areas
- 0.5-2 hours per validation session (async review + live meeting + brief written summary)
- Strong preference for advisors interested in long-term fractional advisory role and special projects
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate primary work commitments, including reasonable availability for evening and weekend sessions
- Virtual meetings, no travel required
Compensation
Project-based compensation commensurate with experience:
- Compensation range: $900-$2,000 for initial engagement based on the estimated hours listed above
- Final compensation will be determined by hourly rate adjusted for expertise, credentials, and advisory scope
- Competitive rates commensurate with professional experience and specialized knowledge
- Strong preference for advisors interested in ongoing fractional advisory relationship and special projects
